Step 1 of 3 – Enter Organization Details and Current
Plate Information.
In order to replace a mutilated plate, you need to verify your organizations information
and the information for the plate you would like to replace. When your Organization
and plate information is verified, you can than complete the process of ordering
a replacement plate.
- Begin searching for the plate to replace by entering your Secretary of State
Number, Plate Number, and Plate Class.

Secretary of State Number

Your Secretary of State number is the Business ID which is issued when you register
your organization with the CT Secretary of State. Your FEIN, Tax Identification
Number, and License Number cannot be used in this search.

Plate Number

The plate number of the plate you are reporting as mutilated and want to replace.

Plate Class
|
Select the plate class of the plate you are reporting as mutilated and want to replace.

- Click Continue to search the DMV database for any compliance issues.
Click Cancel to return to the DMV self-service website.
